maybe you can try daphina... microworms... baby guppies...

an idea would be to put a powerhead at the bottom of your tank so it stirs up anything that might otherwise settle down there... that way your paddlefish are always swimming in a 'soup' of food... and they can just cruise around and eat, and you don't have to worry about siphoning out stuff all the time
 
New Life Spectrum "Grow" is tiny pellets and loaded with protein. Anytime I need smaller food I just crush up pellets of whatever I need to feed.
