In addition to what everybody else stated, they also do best in a circular tank which reduces the chances if it injurying its nose.

It's been offered on this board before long ago but haven't seen them back.

:D

it's kind of difficult to keep them in aquaria from what ive read, so as someone previously said if you dont have at least a 1500gal tank, dont get one

I heard they are hard to keep too. But I would like to try. If I can find one and it outgrows my 330 gallons. I will put it in a pond. I am surprised not a lot of thread about this fish, they are a true oddball.

I have 2 of these. They are not for sale. I got them from a member that had them for sale this past summer. It looked like a few shops in the Ohio area had them during the summer as well. I have them in a 250 gallon round tub at about 58 degrees. When I first got them I had them in a 20 gallon high for a couple of months and they had no problems at 80 degree temps in fact they grew faster and ate anything I offered them brine shrimp, blood, worms, mysis shrimp, glassworms and the arowana pellets took a while. They will be going into a 10k pond this spring. I have them feeding on arowana pellets they even ate some baby koi I had them in with. You will need to keep it alone or with fish that won't compete with the food source because they are not the fastest feeders.

Very cool fish! I could have gotten my hands on hundreds of fry while I attended college. We artificially spawned paddle fish every year for teaching purposes in aquaculture. I still have contacts that I could call on. Spawning season is on its way!
