Paddlefish

There is no such as dwarf paddlefish, just stunted paddlefish. A two years old paddlefish should not be at 10". Maybe you should be retained "experienced" out of your statement?

Maybe you don't know what you are talking about, have you ever kept paddlefish? The fish farm that sent them to me told me they were dinks and would have been thrown out because they don't grow big like the others.

Moontenman about that your a experienced paddelfish keeper i dont think so you had 12 fingerlings thare you have only 1 left the 11 paddelfish are dead so i call that not experienced keeper but some one that think he no about paddelfish

And your last reaction tels me that you no notting about them and you proof me that becose from 12 paddelfish only one left and that your saying your experienced keeper yes in KILLING paddelfish not in keeping

And pleas stop keeping them and telling that you no how to keep them it is better for the paddelfish and peopel that want to keep them before they do what your telling about this nice fish and that they make a big mistake and kill the fish ore give them a poor live what will result in they will slowly die

Read about them first how big they get and how to keep them than give them also a big tank ore stop keeping them

Mn-rebel your post is also my thinking

And sorry for my posting but this kind of fish is only for some one that will give them what they need to have a good live
Kind Regards Jeroen

I'm an experienced paddlefish keeper dude, they can be kept in aquariums, and there are dwarf paddlefish...

I still have one, he is doing well, he is still less than 10" at two years old.

That's because it comes from hatchery farm, they often keep paddlefish fingerlings in overcrowded holding tanks. So you have runt aka stunted paddlefish and not dwarf paddlefish.

First off I suggest you learn to use a spell checker secondly, Do none of your fish ever die? Have you not ever bought a fish or a group of fish and had them die? I was honest about my experience with a fish I knew little about, I discovered some of the things "everyone knew" about the fish were false and found out some new stuff about them. The fish I got would have been destroyed so I see no reason why I shouldn't have kept them.

As for them being dinks, it is quite true that in fish hatcheries they often come across fish that no matter what the habitat they do not grow even close to the adult size, i have this from scientists not some rumor from a hobbyist.

Well i was told they were genetic dwarfs, I know this occurs in other fish, i see no reason why it wouldn't occur in paddlefish.
