Panaque sp L191 : spawning endeavour

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo

this morning at 08:00 am, under 50 cm water column, for a huge water change. I set a hamburger matte filter XXL and had to use the 11 roots as supports for the blue foam. I'm IN the tank and it's a bit cloudy... but this is already cleared and solved tonight.

update after 6 months :

3 mature males of 35 cm TL and 5 years old
2 potential females 25-30 cm TL and 5 years old
2 breeding spots (both occupied by a male)
2.5 months of dry season (without any WC neither filter cleaning)
2.5 months of rainy season (50-60% WC daily, with 6° Celsius of temperature fall)

and...
nothing more than awesome odontodes growing rate

I'll keep on going with "normal" WC for a few months, maybe till spring... and then... leave it for another year

This is exactly how I "trigger" my zebras to spawn. Can you share why you decided not to artificially trigger your panaques and just do a normal maintenance routine? Thanks and good luck!

simply because after 2.5 months of daily WC routine without any impact on behavior , I was bored... and they took another dive into the big inner pond...

Sorry to bug you but saw u we’re on and I’m panicing. Can you help me?

Need help, moved oscar to a 125 and he’s not eating and his fin looks to be deteriorating. I️ have left him alone for 2 days thinking he was acting weird cause of the new tank but notice the fin messed up. He’s now upside down heavily breathing. Help!!
