So let me start by saying arowana's have to be the sissyest fish i have ever gotten in my hole life! i got one yesterday and added it to my tank k granted he was with a bunch of really mean fish, so i went to bed and woke up to him gone.....so i figured he got eaten by another fish so what ever so i went to the store today and bought another one 40$'s later i took him home and put him in my other tank that only has gold fish in it ok and none of the have ever eaten one another but they ate my arowana alright i came home to pices of him floating around the tank wtf i he cant live thro some gold fish he has to be the biggest wimp in the fish world i give up on this ish i just wanted to vent!

So leave me thoughts to why my gold ish ate him or me thanks.

your aro got eaten by goldfish . i dont think they hunted him. maybe the temp difference or water conditions killed the aro and the goldfish ate him when he was dead. IMO or you got some crazy goldfish. and im not laughing at your loss just the picture of goldfish acting like piranhas. sorry for the loss.

yeah well he sat in the bag for 3 hours dloating befor i put him in and the tank water is good i checked it befor i let him go im just mad thats two in less then 48 hours i have decided they just arent meant to be i guess!

Baby arows are very delicate and dont really even defend themselves until they hit about 18". I'm not quite sure why you don't know that or why you don't understand the differance between a baby and an adult...but anytime you'd like you drop a few of your 'tough' cichlids in the tank with Pinky...or two foot silver arowana...I'm sure she'd enjoy the snack.

yeah thats my point the cichlid i understand but the gold fish i dont even know where to start to think o why!

Maybe you should tell us how big is your aro and how big are those gf.... GF are greedy and they will basically eat anything that they can get or they think their mouth can swallow.

maybe the aro jumped and hit himself too hard against the light or smacked against the glass and died. i really think its the temp or ammonia. see below.

"First off, the thing you need to be the most concerned about is the buildup of ammonia in your tank. Goldfish are known for being high producers of waste, especially ammonia. Ordinary tropical fish can not handle as high of amounts of ammonia as Goldfish can. If you add other tropical fish to your tank, be sure and closely monitor your ammonia levels."

he was only a baby he was anout 2 inches and the gold fish were smaller then him and most of them were guppies and such i only have like 2 acutal gold fish
