you could try a well-crafted divider that has a hole in it just big enough for the female to slip through


african cichlids would make good tankmates for him. smaller cichlids like rainbows/convicts could work well too. he may never accept the female RDs with him...

Do you all think that I should purchase a larger female?
A good friend of mine owns a lfs and he has a 10" female Midas
that is slightly larger than my male. I'll see what he thinks about the idea.

purchasing a larger female will likely not improve things, and may only result in your male being the *****, for a change. You could get lucky but I definitely wouldnt count on it.
