La Ceibas are extremely easy to bred, sometimes you have to use a divider if the male gets aggressive. Ken

Very nice, Matt! Red tiger motaguensis are my dream cichlid, unfortunately they are not available in my country and probably will not be for a long time to come. My la ceiba are a great substitute though.

Thanks for the input! At the moment my pair are getting along, and the female flares at the male more often than the other way around, hopefully it stays that way because he's a beast and could easily kill her if he wanted. She's feisty though. I have heard this species is the smallest of the genus, only getting to about 10"? Is that true, Ken?

Eric, your la ceiba are simply stunning, exactly how I want mine to turn out. Have they been easy to breed?

Thank you for the compliment, the fish do all the work. My pair has bred about six or seven times for me already. On avg. they go every few months. The male is roughly 10-11 inches and the female is about 6. i got them when they were about 4.5 inches about a year and a half ago. They are looking like they will go again soon b/c they're displaying for each other and fighting like crazy. Def. my favorite parachromis :)

Very nice, that male is a beast. What do you feed them? Are they glass bangers? My pair are still quite shy and I'm wondering when, if ever, they'll become personable like big jags and dovii.
