Very nice, that male is a beast. What do you feed them? Are they glass bangers? My pair are still quite shy and I'm wondering when, if ever, they'll become personable like big jags and dovii.
When I first got them they were eating hykari gold. They refused NLS. Then omega one cichlid pellets as they became uninterested in hykari. Now they will only eat massivore, with treats of raw shrimp and earthworms. Hoping to get them on another type of pellet bc massivore is expensive lol.
My la ceiba male has always been really chill, the female is the glass banger. The male gets along with all other fish until he wants to breed, or if the female picks a fight with another fish. The female is on full tilt all the time. She's the reason why I had to put them in their own tank. They had a complete role reversal when they were smaller the male would try and kill her so I separated them until she got bigger. After several months I reintroduced them and they have been good ever since.
One issue with parachromis pairs is the size of their spawns. Here's my pair with fry in a 300g before I broke them up. I hated stressing out them out every month catching hundreds of fry.
