Loiselle didnt mention salvini in his write up on guapotes but those are nice. I think mini guapote is more of how they are similaar just smaller but not true guapotes. Lets keep this thread to true guapotes ala petenia and parachromis.

So salvini aren't guapotes?
Salvini are true guapotes and they might even be reclassified as a parachromis. All a guapote is a predatory CA cichlid really.
So a 9" male sal and a 12" Freddy are really that different in size to make a difference? 3" is the difference to call a predatory cichlid a "guapote" or not?

No need to get hasty here. Was asked if snooks could be included and since we hardly see them here and they are a guapote I said why not. Now enough derail and lets get back to the original purpose and to some awesome parachromis:)
