So, the parachromis i bought about a month ago was sold as a Motaguense. I think i have a Loiselle. All the pics Im comparing to are leaning Loiselle IMO....Not that i mind either way, but would be nice to positively id the fish for my own sake. Fish is about 5-6"

So what do you think?P1030347.JPGP1030265.JPGP1030067.JPGP1030277.JPG

the top would say it is a loiselle but i cant shake the thought that its a lois mixed with another one of the parachromis, maybe im just tired.

How long has it been in the tank? It looks like it could be a stressed loiselli or stressed mota. Wait till it gets comfortable and if it gets more yellow I would say loiselli and if it get more redish then I would say mota, but I don't have much experience with mota's.

Definitely a little stressed. He spent the last few weeks in a qt tank in the garage. Unfortunately I was own of town for that period of time and I didn't get any pictures. When I got home(last week) it was 97 outside and his tank temp had risen to 90. I cleared space in an upstairs bathroom to keep the qt tank till I the new one set up this week.

These pics were taken about 24 hours after he got netted, moved in a cooler to the qt tank now upstairs and totally rearranged. At to that the fact that I also had to place a divider in the tank to make room for my fathers day present.... a 3" festae. This was the first gill flaring through the divider episode with the festae. Colors were about as intense as I've seen. He(I'm assuming) is a pretty light colored fish in general and is still pretty skittish overall...most skiddish I own for that matter. I got lucky I had my camera with me

I do not think it is a motaguense

Yeah, I really think its a loiselle. I went there to try to find a loiselle, but the only one they had (besides this one lol) was too big for the rest of my stock. They had 3 motas for sale and this one kept following me around and didnt look like the other two so I bought it. Guy helping me at the store hadnt much experience with parachromis so i didnt push the issue. I really bought the fish because it followed me around the store. And it looks like I got my Loiselle after all
