Parachromis ??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
theres no dovii in that fish. La ceiba yellowheads (Fredreichstali) loiselle and female dovii are all yellow with black markings and none have that face shape.

looks like a stressed out female freddy to me here is a pic of my female loisellei to compare notice the worming pattern on the top of my fish, the fish that u have lacks the worming, and u can also throw out the idea of it being dovii ....

I still think its a mix of something, but it does look alot like a freddy too. Trust me, id prefer it to not have any dovii n the mix if I can help it. So we know its female and most likely a hybrid of either freddy or loisellei. As long as she doesnt get 2 feet long we should be good lol. Thanks for all the input!

heres a bad photo of my female la ceiba from january129.jpg
the pattern is similar with your faded female but the body/head shape is way off from being a freddy in my opinion

I would have to disagree with most. I have a breeding pair of both Loisellei and RTM. I have fry from both right around 3-4". I personally don't see any Loisellei in it. It looks like a stressed out RTM. Maybe give it a week or 2 to acclimate and get comfortable, then take a couple more pics and post them here. Cause I am curious. What size is the fish? Sorry if you have already said it in a diff post.

Top pic is my female Loisellei, 2nd is a male RTM

Well, after looking close to my Loisellei pic and yours. I may have to agree now. :nilly: I think the best would be to wait a couple weeks for it to get comfortable. :)

The new tank should be ready by this weekend hopefully. She'll have the big move then, so it'll take awhile for her to adjust to that for sure. She's probably around 5-6" now. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow of her showing off through the tank divider. Festae is on the other side. She colors up then but hides usually when someone enters the room. Have to wait it out but I'll get some newer pics.

This is as dark as Ive seen her. She stays out when Im in the room. Looking a little more confortable, but she looks like she wants to eat the festae....and with the size difference , she probably could
