Ask them why you cant have another tank/bigger tank, then go form there. If you can solve their concerns, then you might be more likely to get a tank.

I always get the "Electricity and Water Bill" lecture when I suggest a tank. Currently I have a 55, a 29, a 10 as far as fish. Then I have a tree frog in a 35 extra tall and last but not least I have two sugar gliders in a 6 foot tall 40" wide hexagonal cage. I just turned 15 today.

you guys are lucky, I'm 26 and one have my 225G tall.(yes i know i'm old, and yes I'm still with my parents,I have two disabiling brain disorders that why i'm still in my parents house). don't worry I started with small tanks then as I got older my parents let me have bigger tanks.

try to tell them that youre embarassed by your crappy house so theyll redo it to a degree, then tell them a tank/pond would look really nice. you could even sketch it and show it to them so they know it will be a nice addition to the houses decor

If they are worried about the weight then get a structural survey done, then every one is happy, if your lucky and shop around you should be able to get it for a few hundred as at the moment they are all looking for work.

I had this done a couple of weeks ago and despite most people thinking it would not take it, it could and it's given me complete piece of mind :)
