My parents always encouraged it, then they really liked it when I got a job at a LFS and was their hookup for fish deals. After a surviving a few years off the tracks, I'm a semester away from getting my BS in aquatic biology. So yeah, I'm glad they encouraged it, along with letting me run loose in the local creeks, keep snakes, and all that good stuff. Sorry your parents talk smack about it. Maybe if you convince them it can all lead to a career (that you actually enjoy), they'll change their minds.
My mom tells me that I am a freak and my experiments (Largemouth Bass) is going to get me into trouble some day. My dad doesn't care.
Well what I usually do when I ask my dad to take me to the fish store and he says no you go theres like twice a week, I just tell him ok I'll just go and smoke some weed today like all the other high school kids, lmao it always works.
Either way, it's the electricity bills as I attempt to plunge back in the hobby after a few years hiatus with several more tanks planned in the future.
they want me to get a asian aro or something very colourful, i said if ur willing to pay for the asian aro then i'll get it. my parents are chinese, so theyre into goldfishes and parrot fish, i don't like hybrids unless its a nice hybrid ray. doubt fishkeeping will get me a career in the uk. aquatic biology? sounds like a cool course.
