Yes, I took that photo the day after they arrived from TUIC.

They are all very healthy and growing fast.

The 4 of them live in a 75 with 3 A. Festea that are about the same size or smaller and a handful of small bristlenose. Many of whom have become lunch for the Xilo's :eek:.

don't Amphilophus Xiloaensis have a red spot around the eye

Haven't seen that come up in all the research I have done so far.
They do have a somewhat broken ring of gold around the eye from what I have seen so far.
I would like to learn more about the red eye if you have more info or a link to more info.

Ahhh yes I see what your saying! He is a gorgeous fish.
The xanthic color form various amongst individual fish. They are like sowflakes where no 2 are alike. At least that has been my experience so far. I have 4 little guys and each one has it's own color markings on its body. Some have black splotches and some are all orange or pinkish and some have a blueish gray shading to them. I am hoping for at least one of mine to grow into as nice a specimen as the one Jeff has in that photo.

I've seen yours also and you have quite the collection as well.
How many tanks do you have altogether so far?
I am currently working with 9 and trying to find space for number 10.
(I am secretly planning to build a monster tank like those mentioned here at MFK- they are all so awesome)
