Passenger jet missing

There was a guy on TV today saying despite these pinging sounds it could still take year(s) to find the plane itself
 
I think we would have heard something by now, guess that wasn't debris from the plane.

So Im guessing Malaysia is under a microscope now right? Weren't there a bunch of terrorist training camps down there?
 
I thought I'd update this thread as CNN posted flight 370 as the top headliner yesterday. They just mentioned their data will be released to the public.

But, there really isn't any new information.
