Sounds like anchor worm.

I will soon be trying these guys, I have one which is with a importer that has got them onto silversides. Are they really that difficult to keep?

I've had cynodon gibbus and regular scombs, I'd say they are about as difficult to keep as acestros. Fairly difficult but not too difficult, if you give them enough space, clean water, live food and adjust the flow of the water to their size, they do fine.

Small vamps don't like a lot of flow, once they beef out a bit, up the circulation/oxygenation of the tank.

Out of the vamps and cudas I've kept, none of them took prepared food. Occasionally they would grab a piece of shrimp that I dropped in front of a powerhead, but spit it out. They only ate live fish and live river shrimp.

I recommend them though. What species are you getting?

Mike if its an external parasite you should use some meds like Prazipro. When mine came in i treated them all with it just to be safe.

Hey Bro,

Can you tell me how long it takes to kill the parasites? It is day 4 now and they are still there.I just did another treatment. Any other sugestions? Thanks for any help

Mike i think you should post a pic in the disease forum so maybe Oddball can answer and help you. he is very cool maybe even PM him and ask to check this thread! Since i was thinking after Prazipro they should drop off unless something else is needing to be done!
