Where did you get them? If you got them from Gold Ocean Aquarium, I am sure there are 2 different species in the tank

BTW, there's a Raph in the background in 1st pixI've had tats, and they are an awesome fish. And now, having Armatus which is also an awesome fish, they are definitely different looking fish. More difficult to tell when their smaller, but i still say 100%tats. The Armatus has a "thicker" meatier looking profile, and the Jaw structure and face/eyes are different. I'm by no means an expert, but i am pretty confident in my ability to tell these 2 species apart since i've kept both, and seen many tats in stores. That being said either way the fish are awesome, good luck with them

Either way if armatus or tats Its still an awesome fish and not in the usual aquarists collection
save their teeth when they fall out, every couple months or so, and make a neclace! haha

I have saved quite a few of my big boy armatus' teeth.When I see them amongst the gravel I'll net them out and keep them with the others.
If you pay attention at the tails they are definetly different, and this leads me to believe it's an armatus, but I'm not sure. But c'mon you'll be able to identify what really it is when grows a little more.

Yeah they are incredible fish and I will always be a fan, after my GATF died I swore an oath to characins
