Yeah the juvenile payara pictured had black spots on its head. If you guys think its armatus then sounds good to me. Makes sense too since armatus are popping up a lot.

Based on head/jaw structure in the 2nd and 3rd pic id say armatus. Honestly its still too young to properly id though.
Best way to ID it 100% is to pick it up and grow it out I guess lol. If it's still there next time I go back, I'll take it home for sure.
I'm not too worried about the endli because he's actually about the same size, if not smaller than the bigger guy. The pic just makes him look way bigger than he actually is. Thanks for your concern though and I will definitely be careful. They're not gonna be with him very long because they're growing like weeds right now. I swear, I can just sit there and see them grow.
I'm no expert, but awesome that pic looks to be tats not armatus .... dont take my word though, let the experts chime in

didn't know that. I never see baby tats popping around unless the armatus are mislabled as tats.
