If still skinny after all that eating I’d consider prazipro he might have internal parasites too..or load pellets with api general cure..goodluck!

Thankfully I still have a new bottle of Prazi. How long should I wait to see if he gains any weight?

That’s great news and a good sign that it’s eating, and even better that it is going for pellets. You should know by a week if it is not gaining weight size imo.

if it eats lots and doesn’t fill out, that is a tell tale sign.

Thanks for the advice, I think I’m going to make a homemade garlic guard and mix it in with pellets for him. I actually fed him some more convict fry this morning but he didn’t budge!! He actually went up for Hikari pellets instead!!!! He was feasting with the other tank mates. Im excited and hopefully this guy can gain some weight within these coming weeks!

That's great. I was never able to get my Armatus to take pellets. Makes feeding a lot easier and less messy. Good luck with him/her, I hope to see updates as your Tat gets better and grows.

Thanks! Do you have pics of your Armatus? Would love to see some! I ended up adding some Prazi just in case but I kinda messed up the process towards the end since I messed up my ankle and was on rest smh. I’ll upload some pics of my red tail today

The pic and video are about 10 years old, so forgive the quality and my lack of knowledge back then. I would not feed mice/rats to fish even if they are frozen now. There are far, far better food sources for Armatus and Curupira. You can see the color difference between your Tat and my Arms in the fin area. ee the crisp white edging n the anal and caudal fins as well as the dark coloration just before the edging while your Tats fins are a reddish orange. Also look at the caudal fins different shape when compared to your Tat.

Thanks! Sorry to hear about you losing your Wolf. I sold the Arms a long time ago. Back then I had a bad tendency to change up my stock often, so I used to sell my fish to make room for new fish. It was around 7 years ago that I stopped doing that and started considering my fish more carefully as I planned to keep them long term. I am planning on a dedicated fishroom and if I do I will probably get some Armatus again.
