Payara Problems...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I love prazi, it's great. Except that for something like anchor worms you need a med that targets external parasites. Check out something like Tetra Parasite Guard or CyroPro. Nice payara btw.

the box says its harmful to crustacians like shrimps and crabs. And although we call it a worm, the anchor "worm" is actually a crustacian.

But ive never used prazi, and it doesnt seem to be having any visual affects. Ill have to wait the week and see. Ive heard a lot of people tell me thats its next to impossible to get rid of these parasites.

And thanks, he is just a baby right now, its so much harder to have to treat a baby fish than a full grown fish... I worry so much more, from him being more fragile. But i just know he is gonna pull through. And ill be so happy to keep you guys posted when he gets better and out of that quarintine tank.

I was thinking the Prazipro would of killed that anchor work already. I would also look into what characinator recommends.

I thought it would have to. Do you think that it would be safe enough for the armatus to carefully... And i cant stress "CAREFULLY" enough, remove him from his tank. Euthanize him, and cut the anchor worm off with a scalpel, or pull it off with tweezers? But all done extremely well planned and prepared. Then put him back in the tank, then treat him with medication for the open wound, so it doesnt get infected and heals quikly?

That sound like it should work, also how about looking into some Maracide.

just an update on the armatus. He is looking one million times better. It also seems that the anchor worm has started deteriorating. All looks good from here.
