PAYARAS

hey everyone,
im new here but ive been keeping fish for about 4 years now and i was wondering about keeping payara (hydrolycus armatus). i have an empty 55 gallon tank 40x20x13 and im hoping to get some payara. i just have a few questions because ive never kept payara before and they look bad ass!!

How many should i keep in a 55 gallon tank?
could i mix them with oscars?
what would you reccomend feeding them?( i was thinking feeder shrimp and as they get bigger maybe larger feeder fish)
any other tips or suggestions on payara fish will be greatly appreciated

if you cant get a larger tank think about getting (Exodon paradoxus) or the Buck Toothed Tetra. they are the chiuahua of the monster fish world. they will tear up feeders and cant live around pirahnas for long time with right amount of cover. they get about 2 inches long and you could have several in a 55 gal tank.
imo live food should always be a part of feeding predatory fish...thats just my opinion!

exodons get to 6 inches.
they eat scales and fins.
live feedings may introduce bacteria and desease into the tank.

Vamp... I had very successful outcome with Aros teaching my Tats. I say throw in maybe 2 more silver aros and he should deff be motivated to try market shrimp.
Also once the aros get big enough, you can try to add them with your big armatus (better to try with silver than black aro. JMO)

its only been a few weeks now, off and on. im not rely that stressed but if i starve him for a few days he starts beating the crap out of the aro and pbass. as soon as they upgrade tanks im gonna try harder.

i have a 18 inch black aro but my 6 inch armatus beats him up, so i dont think he will ever grow fast enough to throw in with fang.
