PB BREEDING PAIR QUESTION

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Any way what would you guys say a good size tank for breeding them would be.
What will they breed in and how do they breed, requirements etc.

A breeding pair of Temensis! WOW!! Those must be HUGE!

Could you even house a breeding pair of Tems?

They are only 14" and 16" but they have had a lot of fry i even bought 3 of the fry that are now 6" What tank would i need to persuade this pair to breed?

If they are spawning at that size you shouldn't have much trouble spawning them in a like sized or larger tank than the one they are currently in.

As for price... I think that 375 is fair without giving up your FRT. As FRT is worth that same tag or more.. making the tems about 900.00. If they are in Show condition then that would in my opinion be worth it.. but that is really only worth it to Cichla enthusiasts.

I mean really... Who here can boast a breeding pair of temensis? NONE! Well not that have publicly announced it... That pair is worth quite a bit beings how they are spanwing in an aquarium.

But it all depends on if Cichla Rule Everything Around you or if they don't. That is the question..

If you can house them and you are Truly a Cichla enthusiast. The initial asking price provided the fish are in genetically excellent is a very fair deal.

But if you are unwilling to let your FRT go.. Then I would either see how low he will go or offer the shortfall in cash.

In my opinion if you pay under 900.00 U.S. you are at the high end price . But is still fair. And if the fish are mint.. then your a re getting a steal.. Just my opinion.

Most here cannot even boast a breeding pair of any Cichla species.. Let alone one that many of us have not even heard of breeding in home aquarium.

EDIT:
Just seen your FRT. Keep the FRT..And offer a cash balance.. Or if you are willing to trade the FRT then straight across. FRT's don't just fall off trees :) And neither do Breeding Cichla.. Still i would just see how much cash and go from there :)

Thatnks a lot

Thats what i figured it is a rere occurence in the aquarium and they are stunning looking PB. They were breeding in a 3x2x2 from the guy i am buying them from but i plan to give them atleast a 5x2x2 to themselfes and obviously larger as they grow but at 14" and 16" i think that is a fair ammount of tank room.

I have got him down to the frt and £100 which is probably about 500 all in so not too rediculous but i think the sheer enjoyment i would get and the experiences i would get from watching them breed and raising the fry will make it more than worth the money.

I am very excited and then i can supply you all with ver cheap temensis.!

Thanks for the comment.:D
