i reckon you should feed feeders till they bulk up, that way theyll be healthy enough to starve on to pellets later on.. like the guys said just bump the temp and increase oxygen and you should be ok..
Ya i was thinking about picking up another one. How often did you feed them the worms and shrimp? Right now im feeding one cube of the frozen worms a day i know he needs more but how often?
rob, sorry, i went to my sister's house for dinner.. i just got back.
in the 60 gallon tank i have 3 cichla ocellaris at 3 inches now, and 3 P. Altum angelfish. i thaw and pour into the tank 2 cubes of bloodworms and 2 cubes of brine shrimp in the morning and in the evening. and they eat every single bite..
With my peacock bass I was able to move them off of feeders really quick with frozen krill. The krill have the same color as most rosy reds so mine seemed to just hit it quick. In the begining they would spit them, but I was persistant and told them to bad and they eventually started eating them. I think personally they get a lot more colorful with them too.
3" Cichla = feeders......4" = bloodworms/brine shrimp.....4.5-5" = fd krill.......
6"+ = pellets........thats how it worked for me!!! my home bred feeders on holidays
Thanks for the replys guys i actually got him to eat some market shrimp last night. Im going to get some brine shrimp and feeders tonight and see how that goes. When i can ill post some pix so someone can id him my lfs doesnt know exactly what he is.
