PBASS- different species

I actually have a fish almost identical to that.

I have both pure Monoculus and pure Ocelaris, and the fish I am refering to looks almost like a Ocelaris but with the monoculus tail pattern. My guess is it's either an ocelaris with unique type markings or it's a hybrid of the 2. But we will never know.

LOL. Well, for example, if you know that it was collected in Peru then it will be C. monoculus, as C. ocellaris is not known from that area. Likewise, if you know that it is collected from Guyanna then it would be C. ocellaris because C. monoculus is not known from that area. Unfortunately there is some overlap (in Brazil) and therefore it's very difficult to tell what species you have at this point in its lifestage. Let it grow a bit and post new pictures or find out a locality if you want a real answer.

I have been there a few times. I don't recall seeing that bad boy though. :thumbsup:
