Any suggestions on tankmates for pbass? Ive had them with an arowana but don't want to deal with DE again. Anyone tried them with dats? I have my baby bass growing out and dats separate wondering if mixing will be ok? Also really want an electric blue jack, will this work and any other fish recommended with cichla?

My biggest concern with dats and pbass is the growth rate differences. You would have to start with a bigger dat than bass for sure

X2 and EBJD's will be food for your Cichla eventually

Tanks mates are going to have to be as big as the cichla. Think large mouth bass, anything that fits in the pbass mouth will be food....

Take your pick. Pretty much anything can be housed with cichla. I like to to keep my bass with anything that can keep up with the growth rate of my bass. Since you have ocell's, which grows a inch a months, I would find a other fish that will keep up with that.

This is what I have kept mine with.... rays are good to.

Have you considered Pictus Cats or RTC's im fairly sure they could make it long term with your PB's

Thanks,

But, I would HIGHly recommend agents getting a RTC for your cichla tank. RTC can, and most likely grow to 2' in the first year (I had two RTC's). Granted, rtc can make great tank mates with cichla, But without a significant tank, a rtc will not work. IMO

OP, Never owned a EBJD, but a I'm pretty sure that a regular one is just the same. I grew a male and female JD out with my bass in a 125gal and they also got along.

just to add a little to what hayn is saying alot has to do with the body shape of other fish also they can size up dinner pretty fast:naughty:
