PBASS WILL NOT EAT!!!! HELP!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tomorrow morning will make a full 7 days that I know that my PBass hasn't ate. Longer then that however because that's when he arrived at the LFS not eating.

He now just sits on the bottom of the tank looking ghastly.

This just really sucks and I feel like I am sitting here simply recording his final moments.

The one guy said he had internal paraistes and that I had to soak his food in medication and then feed to him. How can I get that accomplished when he is not eating anything period??

I have it a toasty 88 degrees. But he pays the feeders no attention.

Arrgggghhhhhh!!

is there a med you can just add to the water?

i hate to say it but you could always put him in the freezer :(

We aren't there yet. I am making a trip to civilization tomorrow and will pick up some ghost shrimp. Maybe he will be more interested in those.

This would make at least day seven that he hasn't eaten.

Well.. I have personally never seen a Cichla take more than 5 minutes to slam a guppy or live food.

Mine even ate bloodworms after a few days...

If it came not eating and still has not eatin,.. It is very possible that a parasite has already done the damage.. I'll Be prayin for you and yoru Cichla man!

:(This thread reached its conclusion about 12:30 today. Shortly after lunch, when I was on the road returning with garlic oil and ghost shrimp...hoping to get him to eat I recieved a call. It was my wife crying and telling me how she had tried to keep him upright and water flowing through his gills. But he had expired.:(

:(I didn't lose a dime on this fish, I only had him for a week, but this whole ordeal has made me very angry and upset. He came to the LFS not eating. In my smuggness...I thought I can get him eating...I had no problem getting my arowanna eating...I got a discount on some CKs and was able to get them eating...Surely I can get the PBass to eat. I lost this one. :(

:(It makes me sad.:(

aww bradda im sorry to here this.. its ok dude you tried your best... im sure if you try cichla again, the same situation will not occur twice.. better luck next time... keep your head high

sorry to hear about the frustration you have gone through... but you did your best in tryin to save the poor guy.. and thats what counts!! i agree with boosten the secound time around will be a thriller filled with excitement... KARMA gots you on the GOOD LIST... next cichla will be your prince or princess...

that sucks man. Don't let it get to your head that all pbass when small are like this, go out and get yourself a school of little guys, and I guarantee you ,you will smile and you will be spending countless hours just sitting infront of the tank watching these guys at night, possibly with a six-pack, lol or more next to you on the floor. Sounds like me !!!
Give it another try ....best of luck !!!
If it makes you feel any better several of us on here have lost some nice one's due to power failures, and water parameters. I lost 12 last year
