Peacock Bass Illegal in Florida

My LFS informed me this week that it is illegal to retail peacock bass now in florida....I've looked online but cant find anything about it..does anyone have any info on this?

Better not be! Good vendors down there. I just started that hobby and this would suck,.
 
I doubt it, i went to the lfs and they had some babies for sale. I havent heard anything about it, and wasnt the government the ones who put them in the lakes in the first place? Why would they make them illegal?

The peacock bass are already in Florida waters and it's proven that they cannot spread up north due to the cool temperatures.
 
Its too bad. We could use another predetor in the great lakes to kill the DAMN Gobys... They ruined everything. Along with the Zebra Muscles & Cormerants... Rant over..

You have plenty of predators.....why you thinks that PB is better than all predators that are present in Great Lakes? As for Cormerants, they are native to Great Lakes.
