Peacock bass keep dying....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
these are not new additions to this tank right? (what i am checking is to see if it could be a change of environment that caused the deaths)

Nope. Had the taNJ this way for about 4 months with no prior issues until last month. Also I stopped feeding them feeders and put them on black worms and blood worms.

Sorry i can't help much, i have never seen such deaths of peacocks, i would have said parasites due to live feeders but it doesn't seem the case.

The abrupt decline (a week or so, followed by death) after a period (introduced 4 months ago) of no trouble suggests a dietary issue to me. What kind of feeders were you giving them? Bloodworms are good for calories, but they are not a good long-term solution to feeding.

First off stop adding Meds, its hard to treat something when you don't know what it is. What is your WC schedule?

Rosie reds and guppies mainly. But the guppies were only for 2 weeks until they were getting too big.

you sure aint the jd killing/stressing them out? all the little cichla i raised out. I had them at high temp. no issues. Look like they stop eating and then turn black and start breathing hard?
