i know peacock eels have small mouths and that baby peacocks will be fine with khuli loaches. but im worried that if i get one, as it gets to adulthood it will finally have a mouth big enough to eat my black khuli loaches. thoughts? how big do peacocks get in the aquarium and how long do they typically take grow.. how many inches a year?

what tank size is it and he should be fine.. as long as he not fed live fish.

29 gallon. hmm, so no endlers livebearers then huh?

yup I have a 7" black spotted spiny eel and he eats guppies so i can't have him in with small fish. And a 29 gallon cause they get u to 6".

I was planning on housing my peacocks with Cardinal Tetras and Harlequin Rasboras but I guess if they eat guppies they could probably eat those too.... I'm gonna have to rethink out my stock plan...

I'de be more worried the peacocks would think the kuhlies as another eel and show aggression that way... but generally male guppies will get eaten, female are usually large enough to avoid predation... imo cardinals and harlequins should be fine as long as they are adults. thought something abit larger like rummynose won't get eaten.

I think there's a good chance that the eel would not eat kuhli loaches. In my experience most fish have very little interest in eating kuhlis, maybe their frantic wriggling looks unappetizing
