So honestly I have an aristochromis christyi... And I wouldn't get him again for a mixed hap/peacock tank. While they look great, they just think everything is food... I mean he hasn't eaten anyone but he hovers over a few of my peacocks and nips at them (ie trys to eat them). And in fact he has caused 2 serious eye injuries.

(You have a couple of other larger haps too, say the venustus and livingstoni that I think would just cause other fish to be afraid and not show as much color.)

Besides that it looks good.

Cool thanks for the info kev I think the chrystyi livingstoni and venustus are awesomely colored fish but if they are going to cause more problems than good I will just have to do with out .Well off to the shop got my plywood last night and trying to finish the stand today:naughty: What other fish do you think would be a good adition to the list??

Feather stone is volcanic rock kind of like the red lava rock you see only it is grey and a little sharp to work with but if you sand it down it will smooth out.It is most commly known as feather stone or feather rock.

Well I haven't gone through them all, but I don't think you have any
Placidochromis there.

Placidochromis electra are great since the males and females both are colorful. (Better than the picture shows.)

Oh and of course a Cyrtocara moorii
http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1061

Then like I said before there is always the Placidochromis sp. "Phenochilus Tanzania" http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1218

Oh and if you do want a biger guy but he shouldn't a problem towards the peacocks get an Fossorochromis rostratus http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1079
There colors are always different, but if you have sand in the tank they are suppose to be great to watch.

If you haven't already just skim through these:
