So far it is keeping 80% of the waste off the gravel and these being cichlids are keeping the rest so Is it worth it I would say yes.Do you need to have larger expectations of this eliminating you from having to gravel vac no.But id does help with not having to do so every w/c.
I'm kinda bummed at the moment .Came home from work and my otter point jake was dead he was one of the fish I had to have and he did not make it .But I did manage to get the tank semi cleaned and took a few pics . Enjoy!!
I still need to get another rock to hide the mag 18 and some of the lights in these were for salt water so they are actinic and I will swap them with 10000k when they go bad .They are also two diffrent fixtures so they look diffrent and will be hidden when I get around to building the top.Also my temp has been a little high these last two 91+deg days so I have proped the tops up to let the water cool down in the tank seems to wirk highest reading has been 83.6.
Sorry to hear about the loss. It stinks to come home to a dead fish. (Which I have been doing for like the last week though they are fish I don't care about but still.)
It is so dang hard to get a feel for the size of that tank. I look at the fish and rocks and my mind just hm there is something wrong. Then it goes, oh so those "little" rocks are actually 1 foot long rocks.

As requested some more pics Still not the best but I playing with my camers settings and getting better not to mention all of my fish are on speed!!
