Pearsie & Heterospilus growth thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Quick uodate on the gang. The pearsei's attitude really has changed since moving hin tothe larger tank. Hasnt thrown any hissy fits where hes scared of me but is much more aggressive towards me. Seems much more confident. I cant stick my hands in there without him charging or trying to bite me. Seems as though hes claimed the tank and the bichirs as his property.

I doubt i'll ever be able to add another cichlid to this tank and have a positive outcome which im fine with as the fish seems to be happy.

The little guys are doing well and seem to be putting on size quicmer than my last group.
Really happy with how the metae is turning out. One of the few times an impulse buy worked out.

Your larger females eyes look like a cartoon, really beautiful. Reminds me of Zelda, windwaker specifically lol nerd alert

Looks fantastic. I am growing mine out with a bunch of south Americans, I am hoping I wont get a crazy one. What sand are you using?

Thx appreciate the kind words.

The sand in the pearsei tank is barton red garnet sand. In the het tank its a mix of garnet sand and red flint sand. I like the straight up garnet sand better looks cleaner

Where would one acquire this...barton red garnet sand?

One would look through my threads and find the sales rep info (Lisa) email her and she'll find a distributor near you or one could hit up google lol
