i currently have 6 bass (3 mono, 2 occel, and an orino) the orino and the 2 occel are wild. they are ranging from 10 to 5 inches.. i have 2 questions, right now i have been feeding raw cut shrimp and cut tilapia fillets and some krill. some of my bass wont touch the krill but all of them except the one occel will eat the shrimp and tilapa.. first off how do i get my one occel to eat anything BUT feeders i dont like feeding live very much and he is getting pretty skinny....
my second question is i would really like all my bass to be on pellets probably be buying massivore. right now i have a small bag and the only fish that will touch them is my smallest mono that has been tank raised and will eat anything i put in the tank.. none of the others will show any interest.
i really think i need to focus on getting my occel to eat cut meats before i try to train them all on pellets though

Check the stickies above DMacks pellot training getting p's off live it works just have to be determined....

Try the pellets in the morning when they are really hungry. Also try feeding in the same spot every single time. Also put only a few pellets in at a time. Even if your mono is the only one that eats it thats fine. Hopefully the others will catch on. Your cichlas may be harder to train because they are bigger and already used to eating different things so be extra patient.

This is a easy one. Stuff one of the pellet's into the cut piece's of shrimp. Problem solved. There already eating shrimp then this is a for sure trick.

that sounds like a great method to get them all hitting off the top of the tank, howver i dont think it will work with me because my other 5 are already hitting off the top and if i throw one feeder in at a time all my other bass will get the food and my occel will stay near the bottom not even knowing there was any food being dropped in.. i already feed my cut meats one chunk at a time and he shows no interest that there is even food in the tank... GRRRR frustration

this is really a good idea and i will try it!!! so by stuffing the pellets into the shrimp will it get them used to the taste and texture of the pellets in their mouth?

? I thought they all ate cut shrimp? And your question was how to get them all on pellet's?

If that was me in that situation, I would take the Ocell out and put in a different tank and train it that way. But, give it time and the bass will eventually eat. Monkey see, monkey do in this case. I had cichla eat nothing but feeders, then one day they started eating shrimp, then pellets.
