pellet training pbass???

i am currently inbetween homes right now so i only have space for my one tank in the place i am renting from... i have thought about this but its just not a possibility until next month when i move into my new house and all these guys will have a 1000gallon tank to swim in

are you thinking that the occel might get hungry enough and eventually eat the shrimp? i think he ate one piece yesterday but i didnt get to actually see it because there was a blurr of 5 other bass feeding frendzy haha.. today i kept a good eye on him and for sure he didnt get any

Yes, If the Ocell is hungry enough, it will eat. Kelberi's on the other hand (IME) are punks and stuck up little crappers. One of the harder ones to convert.

Give it time. Ocell, IME, are one of the easier ones to convert. How big is your newest ocell?

the new occel is about 6 to 7 inches long.. when i got him he was pretty skinny so his body hasnt started to fill out height wise yet.. how long should i let him starve before i give in and throw feeders into fill him up? i am feeding enough food that usually about 4 to 5 pieces will hit the ground so there is extra food if he really wanted to eat he could

I could never "train" my bass to eat from the bottom. If that ocell is skinny, I would put some weight on it first then try to convert to other foods. You can feed the feeders crushed pellets, then feed them to your bass. That worked for me to pellet train my Orino's. Did you try silver sides yet?

havent tried silversides.. i dont know where to get them besides the bait shop and they are pretty expensive

Even though I really hate saying it, But petco and petsmart has silver side. I use to drop the silversides in head first and my cichla thought is was live.

really? are they frozen or what? i never have noticed that they have them there. but are they more expensive than just buying feeders?

i called, they have them too so ill be getting some tonight hopefully this works to get this occel to eat!!! so just drop them in one at a time and hopefully he shows some interest in eating..... so do i just break a chunk off and thaw it in water for a few minutes then start dropping them in correct?
