They aren't on a lot. I have them on for maybe like 4 or 5 hours a day. I do turn on the moonlights for the at night. They are a dim blue light.
 
I had a pet Bluegill named Zapdos who I raised from when he was less then a half inch long and had him for around ten years in a 20 gallon and then a 75 gallon fish tank. He grew to eight inches.

The type of fish pellets I fed him where called Big Strike Fishfood. It is sold in 50 pound bags at Southern states for $12.00 a bag. It is a type of pelt food ment for farm catfish and freashwater lake fish. My Bluegill did eat this for a few years.
