Pellet training

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have the ones in my 150 on hikari aro sticks and the ones in my 240 will eat a variety of floating pellets, but I usually just give them massivore so they dont compete with the Aro.

edit: Gonna start giving the pbass in the 150 massivore soon.

See my thread on feeding Kelberi. I starved him for 30 days. I used to feed them frozen rosey then slowly switched them to hikari sticks. Bass will strike at the sticks thinking it's a rosie.:D

I'd go with A. I used this method to get my Mono eating pellets in a few weeks, except I used peas, not shrimp. See if he likes peas? They just need to be nuked for a few seconds to soften them and then shove crushed pellets in them. Sure beats defrosting shrimp 2x a day if he'll go for the peas.

So a few days after i added my smaller azul to the 150, the larger azul stopped eating. He's not taking pellets or shrimp and I'm getting kind of worried. The Monos are still pounding pellets and are even competing with the smaller azul for shrimps.

Good thing i picked up some prazipro before work today. I came home from work tonight and found my larger azul acting very strange. He still has the labored breathing and wouldnt budge when i approached the tank. His colors were also very strange. On one side he was half light and half dark and on the other side it was dark tail 1/3rd, light middle 1/3rd, and dark head 1/3rd. I did a small 20% wc and added in the correct dosage of prazipro. He started swimming a little bit about an hour and a half after I added it. Hopefully it is helping.
