my albino loves Hikari's sinking carniverous pellets....but my Senegal can take em or leave em.....depending on exactly long it has been since he was last fed!! Seems he is a bit of a food snob!!

mine eats hakari FLOATING pellets. along with some loachs

My Sens seem to love Dainichi FX sinking pellets. I see them all pushing the sand around with their noses looking for the pellets.

finally started eating shrimp pellets. now, my new ornate won't, lol. guy at the LFS said it was eating beef heart, FD krill and rosy reds.

I've had mine on a steady diet of omega one shrimp pellets. The 38-8 protein to fat content works for me. A few rosy reds here and there. He's just started to chase floating omega ones too! (Some of them don't sink immediately and linger at the surface for a little while.)

has anybody ever tried getting bichirs use to eating floating foods? mines doesnt and is mainly hooked on sinking foods

Yup... arround this time of year my neighborhood get full of flying red ants that are attracted to bright lights (like the one over the tank) My sengal patrols the surface like a shark on crack waiting for one to slip into the water.

Same idea I guess...

my tiny 3-4" senegal won't eat them, but eats algae wafer pieces. wtf? lol loves frozen bloodworms, too and is very active

Mine also goes for the algae wafers.
