I feel it's being done to replace them with cattle. Big meat industry interests prevail because they make tons of money and the horses do not...Well unless they are sent to slaughter. I too am outraged by this.

tbh i see how they could. eat live crops etc. but an electric fence would do the trick. but they wouldnt destroy the ecosystem. more just pests for farmers. maybe if only the farmers were allowed to shoot the ones that were on their land...although i dont condone this but coming from a farming background myself and battling foxes, badgers, rabbits etc, i understand the need to cull.

the horses are disrupting natural habitats, and have caused native plant populations to become in danger of extinction. do the math: if horses kill native habitat, then native animlas suffer as a result of having their homes destroyed by non-native animlas. if you want to get into the 'who was here first' game, then the native wildlife were here long before horses helped people build anything. so dont they have a right to live too? they were here first.

ur then fighting an argument with 'we dont deserve to live either'

im not having a go, just interested in what your saying. i agree with what your saying but we have done exactly the same and have wiped out 1000s of native species all over the world

I understand the need to capture and cull a certain number every year. If not, their numbers would become huge. Same with deer hunting. I have no problem with that. But, 33,000?? They don't have to kill all of them. That is just rediculous. Killing them is not the only solution...
 
are you guys against killing wild pigs too? or how about the asian carp? they all have similar effects on our ecosystems

although i am not an american i would gladly come out and buy a farm to wishfully rescue them all. i care for any animal...unfortunatly im scared of spiders and foxes but i couldnt kill one to save my life...literally...iv thought it through enough times lol
