wow some things are just better off not knowing about in this world.........this is some f'd up stuff!

this is just the begining....ive spent the past 5 years learning about this stuff and fighting to stop it. when i graduate im gonna work for the DFG and do my part to put these people in jail, but the problem is that sooo few people know about the crimes. no animal is worth living to the poachers im trying to fight, they even kill bald eagles...and condors...and tigers(obviously not in america)....

i completely agree with chole_21. i do agree that horses can be devastating to the environment because all the do is eat, they could eat themselves to death if they had the opportunity.

i agree that horses that are disabled or sick or mean should be put down, humainly of course. but when it comes to people putting down horses that are perfectly capable of being adopted is completely different. such as the people that buy a stallion and think he is going to be a nice calm horse for their child. stupid. then they get mad because it is out of control and take him to a slaughter house when this could have been avoided in the first place if someone would have just taken him to get gelded. also the people that just go to get money from horse meat. thats what pisses me off so bad.

dont get me wrong. i agree that they need to be downsized just like deer and whatever other animal, but the ones that will never be able to be trained or treated for different conditions

if you want a brief glimpse of what is happening to our native wildlife, then read any one of Terry Grosz's books...he has a few, "for love of wildlife" is one of my favorites. and he only scratches the surface of whats going on, his books are true accounts of some of the things a DFG officer has to deal with on a daily basis...but i warn you, if you love wildlife, his books might shake your belief in our fellow man

my stomach isnt strong enough for things like that. especially since ive been really sick and throwing up i thought it was a good idea to save myself from the toilet by not looking at pictures

they ARE killing them humanely, there are all kinds of government protocols they have to follow when working with live animals, and euthanesia rules are particularly strict. and whats so bad about selling horse meat if its from "un-usable" animals? we sell cow meat, and sheep meat and goat meat? what do you think is in store brand dog food?

and again, WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT RIDING HORSES. the stallion you mentioned has no relevance to this FERAL HORSE discussion

i know i know. im just saying. i said before that i understand and i agree that they need to be used for other things than eating farmland. i just know how i feel about my horses, how much i love them and they are my big babies. and others in general that i wish i could save them all, but im sure we all feel the same way and not all these horses are the same

does anyone actually live near the wild horse range? i live a few hundred miles from them, and see comercials to adopt mustangs all the time. its NOT HARD to find and adpot wild horses! so dude, stop saying "we need to adopt them out" becaues THEY DO! the problem is that not many people want diseased un-friendly horses with health and hoof problems, so the ones that are adoptable sit in pens for months waiting for a "loving individual" to come rescue them.

if you guys are so against this, then why dont all of you go adopt a wild horse, and give it a place to "roam free" on your own land. then maybe you'll see how quickly it will turn your nice field into a dirt patch. http://www.blm.gov/wo/st/en/prog/wild_horse_and_burro.html heres a direct link on how to adopt them.

Thanks for the link! This is a great way for everyone on this thread who thinks the animals should be saved to be able to adopt a wild horse. ;)

you are still fighting against what we do. we build over forests, swamps etc and then complain about the animals.
florida for example (dont get me wrong i love florida) have built over swampland and then complain about the gators coming in their yards and eating their dogs etc, when the gators have every right to be there and are then taken away to be killed.
what right do we have to kill them???

So true they removed a big gator couple miles from here from a canal that faces new houses that are being built.

He is to big to relocate thus according to trapper he will be killed.
I like to say "The non native animal here isnt the problem its the bulldozer". Granted gators aren't non native.
