there really isnt any place close by that i can catch perch. Also i dont think i will ever catch a 2-3inch perch. once the basement is done it will be climate controlled but with only a few vents for heat and ac.

The key for me was having floating food that washed around with the current from the filter to keep it moving. I got him when he was 3.5" and have had him for about 5yrs. I wouldn't go any less than a 75 and only that small if you're keeping a single specimen without other tankmates.
