Perfect cat for a 180? For life.

How about a sailfin marbled pim? They max out at 24" I believe. According to planet catfish. Beautiful fish imo.

Way to go bigglesworth! I just came across this cat this morning when browsing planet catfish. I think we have found a winner!

L. pictus go larger than 2'. i think the 2' estimate is on the low side. Probably just what the average aquarium hobbyist can hope to achieve. I can be wrong though. More research reveals most sites agree with 2' max. :)

Hmmm...something to think about. Should be able to live for quite sometime in the 180 right? I still have months before the tank will be running though, so no rush on coming to a definite decision.

Ya, it'll be fine for a while, but they are pretty bulky cats and I think it'll out grow the tank. I always recommend bottlenose cats.

Just looked up a bottlenose cat, didn't know what it was. Low and behold, my lfs has had one for sale for a few months now. He has it labeled as a duckbilled catfish and wants $199 for it....

I'm doing the same tank with cichlids right now, in the process of selling all my fish, which included a 20" poly. Endlicheri. The fish was huge and IMO way too big for the tank lol I'm thinking bout doing a shoal of pictus, one or two ornate pims, and now a Lima shovel nose after reading this thread lol just my $.02
