Perhaps the coolest cichlid ever

Perhaps we take them for granted but Large Mouth Bass (Micropterus salmoides) are RAD! My buddy has a 3,000 gallon pond with 3 Large mouth (3-5 pounds each) and those things are monsters. When he throws gold fish or koi in there some of them don't even hit the water. The bass litteraly jump out of the water and grab them mid-air. I don't think your allowed to keep the but, they are truely monsters.

I dont think anyone takes them for granted. Many people on here keep them and knows that they are truly monsters.

They are a Sunfish not a cichlid, they kind'a look like one though.

Oh yes, LMB are monsters! I have a scar on my right hand from my bass biting me during a water change. The scar is probably from an infected scrape, but still that fish is monster!

They are a Sunfish not a cichlid, they kind'a look like one though.

I personally believe the classification of Bass in the sunfish family to be crap, regardless of any genetic similarities.

LMB is not a cichlid its not even in the bass family
its in the sunfish family. its weird i know..

but yeah ur right theyre cool!!! im planning to have one this summer.
