Perruno in a 180?

You'd know better. All I can say that only one of mine 7 looked like the coloration/pattern on the right. Mine were all adults or sub-adults. The pic on the left is of a juvi - so no fair comparison.

I still am cluless as to the differences between the marmoratus and longibarbis... but that's for a different thread.

So they lose that nice bold coloring as they get larger? I was hoping some individuals that had better coloring when small would retain a similar color and pattern when they got larger. Thoughts on that?

I'm not sure I understand. Both fish pictured are marmoratus.
