lol ah, no. theres maybe 2 or 3 people on this forum that have kept pimas privately in a proper tank/pond. not quite a few.

Precisely. It isn't like we don't know growth rates of arapaima, or eventual size, or have many questions to answer about keeping them responsibly. The simple fact is that those questions are usually disregarded in favor of the "bling" factor.

Is this another of those occasions? The title states it is a project ... hopefully that means the owner is more committed than others previous?
