don't switch the bulbs, it messes up inventory and someone did that to me and I brought home a sun glow instead of the actinic bulb and actinic bulbs are the most expensive of all of those bulbs so I got screwed and I can't return it because it is in the wrong stuff.
Some jerk did something similar to me. I bought two of the large packs of Jungle lifeguard at meijer(department store) for $20. The boxes seemed light, but I had never bought lifeguard before and figured the med might not weigh much. When I got home it turned out that the boxes were empty. I felt like an idiot.
Thankfully the store gave me my money back. I was worried that they would think I was the theif. They checked the rack and the last remaining box was also empty.
I now try to check all boxes that aren't sealed.
when i go to my lfs and get feeders, i always ask for two dozen and i always end up bringing home about 4 or 5 dozen. And its not just one guy there that does it, every person that works in the fish section knows me really good and they say " your always buying stuff from us and always in here, dont worry about it". i have also gotten a few fish for free because they "claim" they look sick or damaged, but there healthy.
My local petco is actually pretty good, petsmart, not so much. But they screw up alot! They always have ornanda 5-6" in each tank, I once bought 3, they thought they were the blood parrots for $3.99 not the ornandas for $24.99, needless to say i saved about $60 that day!

oh and another time they had small oscars in with the big oscars and there was one big oscar in the little oscar tank. dont know why. well anyways i got the manager (who was dating my cousin) to sell me one of the big oscars at the small oscar price because the big oscar in the small oscar tank was bigger than the little oscars in the big oscar tank.
i guess these arent really mishaps. just a little bit of criminal mischief.

When I used to work at Petco - all the stuff they couldn't get rid of or had been there forever I got at half off.

i get alot of stuff cheaper because i go so often, like free ghost shrimp, also got 10 dollars off my dats.
I bought my blue crays for $3.50 (for both of them!) from a LFS. For some reason the girl put in the wrong code and they rang up as platies. Didn't notice until I was going over the receipt at home.
