cianide in the ocean is a no no, by now we should be aquaculturing as many species as possible,,
just like cops with tazers you should have to get hooked in your lip and swim in poop to have a fishing license,,(someday I to would like to go fishing

and this is a concrete jungle , we have changed this place , and we should keep little bits of realness, alive, even if its in a zoo, or an aquarium or a protected piece of land,,
also I have heard that cherry barbs are endangered or extinct in the wild ,,, soooo, if thats true the aquarium trade is already doin somethin right,,
wallmart get their fish from the same suppliers as most lfs's and petco and petsmart..
wallmarts tanks are crappy and they have idiots runnin the place,, lol just like petco and petsmart,,. if you know what your doing you dont shop with your fish in the bag,, its to risky, chances are your (wallmart) fish will live if they are not already dying from a parasite, bacteria or fungus, which any fish can allready have. No matter what, the fish from wallmart are stressed , which could kill them. Have you ever seen wallmart acclimating their fish,i bet they dont, they get them once a week.
alot of my wallmart fish are alive and well,,
as long as there are people, there will be a group of people trying to recruit more people.

I think that article is mostly meant for the totally clueless. The vast majority of people that actually own fish, dont know anything about them.
They dont even know what kind of fish they own, let alone know how to care for them properly.
I would venture that those are the people they are targeting with that whole statement.
Other than that. PETA is completely retarded.
That is the most degrating statement i have ever heard. Even someone that doesnt know about fish can be assured that PETA is pretty much slapping them in the face with that statement.

Oi, I hate PETA. I do have a concern about the cyanide, though. However, I'll admit I really don't know all that much about the practice.
