Peta says: Fish Keeping = BAD!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
PETA's statedgoals of ethical treatment for animals is laudable, they just take it way too far. They have way too much time and money on their hands. I am an unashamed omnivore, I eat meat, eggs and cheese along with my vegetables. I do judge a buffet by their veggies, if the veggies are good, it's likely all good.

In essense the concept of PETA is a good one, its when they take their concept and turn it to practice that it tends to go a bit ape.

By this standard, perhaps we should all get rid of our pet cats, dogs, birds, reptiles and any other creatures we keep and love.

the concept of peta i can see, but its just the fact that they turn to protest and criminal violence to attempt to achieve this is too far.

dont flame me for this..but...i can agree with some parts...because yes fish can be stolen to b in our aquariums but generally on here and any GOOD AND RESPONSIBLE fish keeper knows how to look after them and provide them with the correct care and food and water.
they r just talking about the idiots that dont do it right.

The goals that PETA started with were (key word) laudable and at first glance I agree with them. However as the organization went form animals to politics it went bad and fast. The current leader (that would be the one who opposes ALL animal research) used to use porcine derived insulin with no issues. She's also quite comfortable with the animals used to derive HER medication, just not for anyone else.

They sent out kill teams to euthanize street animals to be humane. Now they did not use trained animal capture teams, rifles or dart guns etc. oh no. They hand feed or injected all the animals, which would selectively screen for outdoor/lost pets, recent strays. You the adoptable kind that could have easily found a home. Also they left all the carcasses in dumpsters and behind shopping malls.

Now if you really want to hate PETA look up those (expletive deleted) and Irene Peperberg and Arican Gery Parrot Alex. They wanted to relase a very comfortable AFRICAN species into New England weather. She was doing cognative studies with the birds.

Food animals should have a better lot and more comfortable conditions, these will not in anyway be achieved by PETA or any such organization. Make humane animal husabndry profitable and it'll happen. Otherwise all the stuff will just move to China, :nono::screwy:

Ever heard of a "feral cat?"
Even feral cats still depends on humans by use their buildings/bales to hunting mouse and have kittens. I yet has found a feral cat in wildness and not in hayfield or in dump garage.
