hmmm, igoring everything else......you see no animal cruelty in making a whale perform in shows on your schedule day in and day out? you think the training is smooth and flawless with the animals best interests always in mind?
Do performing tricks can enrichment the whales' life...beats do nothing in the pool, being bored to death. Would you spend your whole life in a pool do nothing to do?

So follow your logic, we shouldn't keep ANY MONSTER fish or whenever. We kept monster fish for our selfish entertainment too....even these threatened/endangered species. Clearly these whales are thriving and BREEDING in capitivity and even willfully to entertaining us. Where's the animal cruelty in whale-keeping?

Monster fish? What monster fish? Something that grows a few feet? It's asinine to compare that to a giant whale with clearly advanced brain functions. We're not exactly talking about some mindless cichlid that is only concerned about feeding and breeding. Whales and dolphins are a little more advanced than that. It's sad that you don't see that.

As for monster fish on this site, I don't think it's cool either. Which is why I stopped keeping big fish in what's equivalent to a goldfish bowl.

.beats do nothing in the pool, being bored to death.

^ THAT's the whole problem right there, don't you get it? They should have never been put in a pool in the first place.

LOL, Keeping monster fish in glass tank is unnatural and so are other exotic animals keep in caged enclourse, yet complaining about whales kept in capitivity...I see nothing wrong with it. Whales' enclourse is pretty big enough allowed them to show off their agility..no different from the wild whales.

So are the overweight pets that's laying on the couch all day....At last these whales have good life enough have room for the exercises keep them well-fit.

i don't know guys

i've always felt guilty about keeping fish. although i loved the animals it is a selfish hobby. i agree that comparing marine mammals to monster fish may be retarded

but i also think being ok with keeping fish because they are dumber than marine mammals is also kinda retarded

i'm a bit on the fence

^ hippie.

i'm okay with turtlefest and rough handling wild turtles but i'm on the fence with fishkeeping. you're loopy

Again, there is no difference between a marine mammal kept in capitivity from other animals in capitivity.

Again, your comparisons are so off base it's ridiculous. You're talking about giant marine mammal that was removed from the wild vs a house cat or dog that's been domesticated since the beginning of time. :wall:
