Wow someone is being blind to his biased comments. It doesn't make any sense that exotic animals keeping are wrong, yet it's okay to keep exotic, dangerous and rare fishes? It's wrong to keep a dolphin or apes in captivity, yet its okay to keep rats, horses, pigs, dogs, parrots and even working elephants in Inda? It's wrong to keep dangerous wild animals, yet domestic dogs and cattle (especially bulls) have killed people more than wild animals in captivity? It's wrong to keep orcas in so called "swimming pool", yet it's okay to keep pets in smaller enclourses and even zoo big cats (lions/tigers) needs a large area to roaming around, are confirmed to closed enclourse?

Post 106, since you obviously missed that part.

but still keeping a species out of its natural habitat is the same no matter what the animal is. Im sorry if you can't understand this

Dude, I get it. I've gotten your point all along. I've said that. Taking an animal out of the wild and holding it in captivity is the same whether it's an elephant or an ant. That goes without being said.

My problem with that is, an elephant is not the same as an ant. Not the same when it comes to it's basic requirements, and most certainly not when it comes to its mental capacities. It never will be. You don't have to be a narcissistic hypocrite to see that. And I'm sorry if you can't understand THAT. There's really nothing else I have to say, since I'm just repeating myself over and over.

Don't waste your breath. If someone doesn't get the difference between keeping a whale in captivity and keeping say a discus then they are just trying to get your goat. Either that or just maybe just don't know any better. It surprises me how much an 18 year old student does not comprehend.

You can lead a horse to water....

I don't think there exists, at this point in time, a humane way to keep an animal such as an orca captive. (other animals, yes.. as we kick the dead horse in sequence) If there was, then maybe I would be OK with it. I could even make an exception, if they were a critically endangered species that needed to be saved from imminent extinction. One could even make the argument that they are needed as educational ambassadors for their species and other cetaceans. Another could be that they are needed because they hold the cure to save humanity from extinction due to a plague. Those are all much more reasonable arguments than keeping them just because it's the same concept as a betta in a tin can. Since we are in agreement that keeping live animals is OK under certain conditions. Conceptually, the only way we could keep THESE particular animals humanely for our personal enjoyment would be to build them an ocean and that would pretty much defeat the purpose of capturing them.

Extraordinary measures were taken to take these creatures from the wild, it would be nice to see those types of measures taken to rehabilitate these creatures to return there. It would be an incredible display of human compassion. You're perfectly entitled to a contrary opinion even if you refuse to acknowledge that of others.

What is your evidence of us being 18 years old student?

Your problem is that you ignored the mental capacities of other species included dogs, parrots, rats and pigs...they are pretty smarter than you think. I'm sorry that YOU can't understand that because you refused accept the facts that we do same thing to other species regardless of how smart or dumb they are.

lol, you guys are going around in circles I'm dizzy. can you guys just agree to disagree?

i feel the end is near, peta threads usually get locked after 100 posts and 1000 views
