Petco Cichla

You kind of just take your chances with petco. I bet a lot of nice ones will come out of it but there will probably be even more fugly looking ones.

Pbass510 I live all the way upstate NY in watertown, ny.... i dont think cichla prices will plummit leven if petsmart started selling them too I still dont think they would their just hybrids and I dont see big chain stores being able to get the rare wild cichla either but we can only hope to get $10 Azul's one day lol...I'll post up in a couple months with growout pics of these guys....

Joey822 he does have a girl an RM Orino from rapps she lays and I think the first time the timeing was on but she spooked and ate the eggs I think me and the fish where in shock, after then everytime she lays I cant get the eggs to hatch for whatever reason tried diffrent techniques but eh no luck tired of just two fish in the tank so filling up with couple more cichla which should be ok there was two other cichla in there when they first layed......
Have you tried getting her to lay on a rectangular tile or slate and doing a jar hatching the way you do with angels? It's actually way easier than you think and you have much better control of parasites, bacteria and water parameters than you do in an occupied aquarium.
Just turn some Bon Jovi on. Just let me know if u get them to breed ill by some. Good luck
